Cup of the Americas 1928
Six of the paintings by Paul Brown, American (1893-1958) on offer from The Chisholm Gallery depict scenes from INTERNATIONAL POLO ARGENTINA vs. UNITED STATES (Copa de las Americas) in 1928. It was the first tournament played for this prestigious cup and the only time the Americans won (7-6, 7-10, 13-7) at Meadow Brook. (After 1928, the Argentine Teams won the Cup through 1980 when it was retired.)
