Edwardian Era Polo Scenes
La Belle Époque, (1890-1914)

Marco Cerri lives in Northern Italy where he paints in oil on copper pictures in a very specific genre all his own. They are paintings of English people engaged at polo, golf or tennis during the Edwardian era. A great deal of research provided a high degree of accuracy to every aspect of these scenes including, of course, the attire and sports equipment,  even the postures and demeanors of the participants. The accuracy of the elements however does not intrude on the overall delight expressed in these tableaux.
